On 10/15/2018, I wrote this song as a prayer over my dad, my family, and the days ahead.

It was a season of pain for my family, as my dad was hanging on for dear life on life support in the ICU. Family and friends all over the world, were reaching out to us, and we felt your love in this great time of need.

I was inspired to attend church in Atlanta, to listen to my dear friend, Pastor Steven’s, message at Sugarloaf UMC. It was about trust, so in tune with our situation.

On 11/6/2018, I got to play this song to my dad as I kissed him and goodbye. We as a family, were all with him his final hours on earth and we witnessed his transition into heaven. I felt his soul wash over me, what a blessing. He is still alive and I feel his presence whenever I want.

As a visual, it reminds me of my Georgia autumn blaze and sugar maple trees with their beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves gently falling slowly to the ground. A reminder to respect the seasons ahead: time for rest and a time for dying.

It is my hope that my song touches you and gives you the Trust you need. May God’s love an my love and gratitude wash over you and the feeling of trust be instilled in you as you listen. May you be blessed with rest and renewal.
